Personalized leather journal monograms are a personal favorite of ours to create. We received a call from a customer wanting a monogram on her boyfriend’s leather journal for a birthday gift. Desiree met with her the very next morning. After talking with her for a little while and looking at the journal, the client showed Desiree her boyfriend’s favorite wax seal stamp with his monogrammed initials. She knew she could take the design and recreate it with her special woodburning tool on the leather itself.
Desiree traced the design right from her phone onto a piece of tracing paper.
She then took the design and embossed it into the leather with a quilter’s marking pencil.
Then she took her Razertip woodburning tool and burned the design into the leather by tracing the custom monogram pencil from the last step. The result is a gorgeous recreation of the wax seal. The client couldn’t have been more pleased with the final result! It was better than she imagined.
