Wood engraving is the art of burning or engraving images or letters into wood using a woodburning tool. Recently, a bride to be came to us with a beautiful small cherry wood ring box she wanted engraved with the word “MRS.” We were happy to take up the challenge and create a one-of-a-kind calligraphy design for the top of the box.
After the bride was texted pictures of several calligraphy styles to select, we created three designs on the box in pencil. The bride selected the style shelike and the wood engraving was done by hand using a Razertip® woodburning tool.
We also included a small surprise for her inside.
She loved the end results and posted it to her Instagram page immediately!
